LDAP support is probably in these apps but distributions won't have the
latest OPENLDAP libraries, nor the apps themselves.
I have the compile scripts with all the parameters-- I ALWAYS compile
apps that will be on an Internet server. I can just specify EXACTLY what
I want, write a compile script, and run the software. Let me know and I
can post them.
The hardest part about LDAP is that it is SO flexible.
I have built this on Redhat 7.3 or 9 systems so I don't know the about
how well my scripts work on other distributions.
But I will say that it is HARD to set up but EASY to administer. Check
out Postfix's web site and see the howtos there about using them
together. It will give you an idea of the work involved.
