Howdy,
I tried vocp about a year ago and it worked pretty well. I would say
it has the functions you are describing. I have also been following the
vocp mailing list since late 2002. Let me add a couple of my
observations and others can add their own.
The most frequent complaint people seem to have is with their modems.
Not all voice modems are created equal and they don't all work equally
well with vocp. If you want a cheap reliable choice, I say look on ebay
for a used USR Sportster voice. Contact me off list and we can discuss
this more.
The procedure for recording messages is a bit obtuse, but carefully
follow instructions and it should work. You frequently have to move the
message through several layers of transform. Once you get it straight
for your card, write a script.
VOCP has improved and seems to be much easier to setup now than when I
started with it.
Have fun,
Ralph
