What's not really clear from that (and other places I've read about this) is exactly WHO MS has to share
information with - and under what conditions.   In the past when MS has been ordered to do this, it's wrapped
the sharing in so much legalese that no OpenSource developer in his right mind would agree to do it.

I would hope this forces them to accurately describe Media player's file formats in a publically accessible
web site with no preconditions or legal entanglements....but I have a feeling that this isn't going to be
what we get out of it.
