I have RH 9 on my Dell with a P2 300 in it.
It runs pretty well. The ONLY snag has been that the sound card in there has a LOUSY linux driver. I've tried this laptop with RH7 and 9, Mandrake and Knoppix - all these distros had lousy sound preformance (but it was AOK when it WAS a w2K Pro laptop) - so I removed sound from the kernel. It's all great now.
