[NTLUG:Discuss] apache, mod_deflate and mod_proxy

I've been playing with mod_deflate on apache. I'd like to be able 
to use mod_proxy and mod_deflate together so I can access a 
remote proxy server that I control and have it send compressed 
web pages to me. mod_deflate is doing pretty well in shrinking 
the date, but it doesn't seem to work with mod_proxy. Has anyone
play around with these?
