My cell phone of 4(5?) years finally bit the dust and I'm in the market
for a new phone. Yes, it does have something to do with Linux. :-P
My goal is to get one where I can xfr phonebook AND calendar info
between it and my computer. Sort of like a PDA sync. Apparently, in
today's mindset a person doesn't have a problem with spending an
extra $15/mo for "vision" or such "service". IMHO, wasted $, TYVM.
I'm just fine with my $30/mo 300min anywhere anytime ancient plan.
Anyway, the phone must use Sprint BASIC service (ie: not require the
use of Vision). I'd like to hook up the phone (via usb?) and xfr data.
There are products out there that xfr phone contact data ONLY. I'd
write the software to do what I want if I had a hold of the spec.
Years ago when I got the now-dead phone, you could xfr such info.
My guess is the marketing people are trying to require you to plunk
down the extra $15/mo for "Vision".
