Hmmm...it would be interesting if it also plays DivX/XviD and the 
like.  That could be what the network port is for--codec 
upgrades!

I wonder how they're going to legally manage that, though, 
because XviD software distribution is actually forbidden in the 
US and Japan, due to MPEG-4 patent issues.  We have the lousy 
state of the software patent system to deal with here. >:(

Also, I wonder if they're going to use xine or mplayer or the 
like?  I don't think the air is quite clear regarding the 
legality of libdvdcss.  At least in this case, though, encrypted 
DVD playback software is available from InterVideo and 
Cyberlink.
