I do not work with PIC's but we have a number of people in the DPRG that do.

Check out the http://www.dprg.org and join the DPRG email list.  You can 
get all kinds of help there. Or at our weekly Robot Builders Night Out 
(RBNO). There is one tonight in Garland. See the website for details.
