I presume that my lower frustration level with RH support is because I
took the early warnings (5.2 and 6.2) to heart - "...it's a joke, son."
- and moved on with the realization that RH and support were like oil
and water. They had a deal where they promised thirty days of
installation support, and a 3 day response time. My experience was that
even if they made the 3 days, which they didn't, they would just be
asking questions and not supplying answers. I found their paid support
to be even less helpful. Don't get me wrong, I still have a warm place
in my heart for RH because they got me into Linux (just as I have a warm
place in my heart for MS because they got a PC on almost every desk),
but as long as they are going "their way" I suppose we'll have to part
company. I haven't tried Fedora, but I have tried SuSe and Mandrake,
and even an earlier product of what is now called the SCO Group, and so
far I would vote for Mandrake.
