Text is all I use, primarily because I'm on a lot of Ham related email
lists on qth.net and they will not pass emails with HTML or
attachments. The filter killing emails with attachments is meant to
provide a level of security preventing the spread of email virii and, I
would venture to say, most of the people on those lists are probably
using Windoze, so they would be the most susceptible to those virii if
not careful since most of the virii out there are aimed at M$. I
believe they don't pass HTML mail because not all readers can handle it.
I don't advocate changing anything on this list as it works fine most of
the time. It appears the problem is on the end of those of us using
Evolution and I use it because I really like it. Oddly enough, I've
never used Outlook, so when a co-worker the other day pulled up his
Outlook, I was surprised to see just how much Evolution *looks* like
Outlook. The Contacts portion looks exactly the same. I suppose Ximian
is making Evolution look the same to make it easier for Outlook users to
transition to a Linux solution...which is not a bad idea. So long as
Evolution isn't vulnerable to the same sort of problems Outlook is, I
don't have a problem with it.
