Fred,
   I can't tell you much about the log info message.  The last part is 
good.  It means no errors were found.  The first part could indicate a 
problem, but looks odd to me.  But, if your problem is lilo, it would not 
be in the xfree log, anyway.  Try Kevin's change and let us know if it worked.
