The quick answer: Yes. It is actually very OS neutral.
A more detailed response=>
It has a default configuration that is set up to act as a DHCP server on a
192.168.2.0/24 network. A few clicks and entries into its web browser style
configuration interface and it was auto-connecting my DSL PPPOE with all
incoming ports blocked. The only "bad" default was that the wireless access
defaults to on with no encryption.
It uses the web browser paradigm for all of its configuration options
(including firmware upgrades). I use Konqueror from a Debian/powerpc
system.
I have it set up currently to block most incoming ports, however, I do route
a few ports through it to my main Linux server. That works well and was
very easy to configure.
I have not yet successful grabbed the IP address directly from it to send
off to my Dynamic DNS provider (I have a script that worked most of the
time, unfortunately, not all of the time). I currently use ddclient in
"web" mode update the IP address.
