I've found that the issue revolves around GPG signatures (for me at
least).  Once I turned off automatic GPG signing of my email, my posts
to this list started showing up with more than the blank line and
footer.  It is something Tom will have to change in his MUA, not you.

This behavior started shortly after the news <-> mail gateway was setup
by MadHat.  I have discussed it briefly with him but he has yet to find
the exact cause.
