Harshal,
I have not seen a study about the medical value of high refresh rates on
LCD monitors. CRTs with a refresh rate of only 60 Hz have a noticable
flicker to me I don't notice that with an LCD. But LCD monitors don't
draw the same way. With a CRT, you have an electon beam(or 3) tracing over
every phosphor dot on the screen. For a LCD(active matrix), you have a
switch at every pixel that turns on and off as instructed. There is no
phosphor decay.
Even with those advantages of an LCD, my 15 inch trinitron is sharper
than any LCD I have seen and that is what I prefer to use for long
sessions. If you have any good pointers, let me know.
Good day,
Ralph

>According to medical standards, a refresh rate of anything below 75Hz is
>harmful for the eyes.
>It causes strain on the eyes and increases chances for fatigue. Long
>hours of staring at monitors (dosen't matter whether it is LCD or
>normal) can also impair your eyesight after some years.
