I can see this must be your 'normal' setup....RedHat 8.0 links the file to
/boot/grub/grub.conf

I changed the kernel line to include the 'hdc=ide-scsi' line before the the
'/' termination.  Afterwards CDRecord --scanbus and GnomeToaster worked like
a charm
