I've got a problem with XFree86 configuration maybe someone could help
me with. I purchased one of the 17" Cornea flatpanel displays from
Fry's last weekend and I'm trying to get the X window system setup. I
have X running at 1280X1024 @ 16bpp but I have a serious shadow effect.
I have also tried to tweak the system with xvidtune but can't seem to
get rid of the shadow.

My system has a builtin ATI Rage Pro video card and 4meg memory (Id's as
AGP). I'm running XFree86 3.3.6 (I couldn't get 4.2.1 to display at all)
The X server is the Mach64, and the Monitor is identified as custom with
31-82kHz Horz range and 56-75Hz Vert range.

While running the hardware controls show the system at 1280X1024 with
79.9kHz Horz and 72.8Hz Vert.

The Xvidtune utility shows the card at 1280X1024 with 79.9kHz Horz and
72.67Hz Vert. and with a pixel clock at 135MHz .

The Web site for corneasystems.com suggests a configuration of 1280X1024
@ 60Hz for the monitor, but when I modify the XFConfig file for those
parameters I get a blank screen, but no errors, and no errors in
.xsession or /var/log/XFree86.0.log.

Any suggestions on how I could get rid of the shadow ??

Tom
