[NTLUG:Discuss] Flash Memory Reader on RH8 configuration

I have a USB flash memory card reader that I hooked up and configured last
week, and I created a mount point directory, and added an entry in /etc/fstab
for it and it worked just fine, UNTIL, I rebooted yesterday and all that
got wiped out, so had to do it all again. (Mount point, and fstab entry both
gone) What causes that? And how can I stop it? Or what workaround do I need
to use?
I see a file created on what looks to be the date of my first configuration
of the device, ( /etc/fstab.REVOKE ), and it contains an entry similar to
what I put in there, not exact but similar.
cat /etc/fstab.REVOKE
/dev/sda1 /mnt/memstick auto default
I don't know who created this file and I dono who did.
Any clues?
