I'm getting ready to replace an aged peer-to-peer file server and would
prefer to do so with samba, but I'm not having much luck in finding
information with regards to file locking. All of the clients are using
QuickBooks/ProSeries/LAPro and there is the distinct possibility that
two or more users can/will be accessing the same file at the same time.
Can anyone point me towards good information on how samba handles file
locking for a situation like this? Dead tree is an option, not just
online info.
Will the users get a 'file in use' message or something along those lines?
TIA,
Ry
