I just installed my nvidia drivers yesterday(Mandrake 9.0,but i see you have
RH)
NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.mdk90up.i586.rpm
NVIDIA_GLX.0-4191.i386.rpm
rebooted to console mode, logged in as root, rpm'd both files, made sure
XF86Config-4 was being used, edited it to use : driver "nvidia" (not "nv")
and rebooted. All is well,I get the nvidia splash screen and best of all
TuxRacer finally works. YMMV,but NVchoose told me exactly what rpm's to
download.
Depending on your system you should try
NVIDIA_kernel-1.0-4191.rh7xup_2.4.18_18.7.x.i586.rpm(there's also a i386 and
i686)
NVIDIA_GLX-1.0-4191.i386.rpm
