XMMS was an available install option, but the Bluecurve skin sucked. I
think someone said earlier that RH hated mp3, and then went on to call
RH the best of the non-completely free distros - I'd appreciate further
clarification on this. I was under the impression that RH released all
their source, and was trying hard to not include any non-free packages
in the default install. I thought the mp3 issue was that the codec
wasn't free (as in speech) and RH was trying to avoid legal issues by
not including the codec in their distro. That being said, it's simple
to visit the xmms home page and download their rpm.
Which packages specifically aren't free (as in speech) and are included
in RH 8.0? If it turns out that I've installed something that I
disagree with on an ethical level, I'll change distros.

I'd be a little scared of putting production boxes on Mandrake anything
right now.

How so?
