I might as well throw in my *humble* opinions!

RH 8.0 took some getting used to (all of the menus changed); but now
that the learning curve has been mastered, I love it. (I admit to being
an RH bigot.) I may have avoided some problems by doing a scratch
install, rather than updating. (I prefer scratch installs on any *nix.)
On my RedHat boxes, /home is a separate partition which I don't
overwrite, so none of my users lose anything in the process. I use pan
for news, galeon & mozilla for browsing, and mozilla for mail. I
haven't had any KDE problems, but only play KDE games. Mozilla runs
RealAudio, Shockwave, and java plugins without problem. RealPlayer
works. I haven't tried DVD's, but someone else already said they work.

I recommend RH, but like I said, I'm biased.
