Keep in mind that if it is up to date, the RPMs you are installed from
8.0 are not and you will have to update it as well. Many of the RPMs
can not compatible between 7.3 and 8.0, one of the problems with
RedHat. They changed a lot of versions and some locations. While it
will keep a lot of settings, it will over wright some of the "patched"
components. Personally, I have found upgrading, on any OS and/or
distribution, to be less than a pleasing experience rather than just
backing up all your relevant data and doing a fresh install.
