I have DNS control at Public DNS serveice (http://soa.granitecanyon.com/)
and I don't have dns server for my own.
I submit change for a while (12/22/2002) and I received the updated notice 2
days after. but the A record not updated until 5th day after I submit.
I did change before. It wasn't take that long. (last time I made a A record
change, it took me about 3 days to to work, but this time, more then a weeks
to seen the A record changed). I think that Public DNS will automatically
change the serial number. (there is no such field that I can modify there)
I suspected it's DNS issue, but don't know which part of it.
on thing I did not mention here (because it worked before) is I have
assigned the 3rd nameserver (which is my box) for the domain, but I did not
run the DNS server on this box. (the box still has no dns server running)
the problem still happend even I can see the ip A record changed (which
means that Public DNS _really_ updated my A record)
How/what the problem will happen if the serial number don't change?
How TTL works on DNS on real world?
