[NTLUG:Discuss] Updating (committing) to SourceForge

I have been unable to update a sourceforge project and need help. This has
taken toooooo much of my time. The project is a Genealogy program called
gramps (which I recommend). I have generated two report generators for it
and would like to update the CVS repository for it. I have been cleared as
"gramps developer" and the ssh login seems to work. Can anyone help me debug
my problem, I have tried this as root and as normal user.

I am running Mandrake 9.0 and am sitting behind a Linksys router. From the
sourceforge documentation this is a firewall problem but the solution (config
file with UsePrivilegedPort no) does not seem to solve my problem.

My procedure is as follows:

Genrerate ~/.ssh/config file
edit in UsePrivilegedPort no per sourceforge docs

Example command sequence (hangs on commit as well):
cd ~/bruce/Genealogy/gramps
export CVS_RSH=ssh
ssh -l username shell.sourceforge.net
<shell>cvs -d:ext:username at cvsgramps.sourceforge.net/cvsroot/gramps diff
****hang****

Much TIA
Bruce
