I didn't see much in the way of specific issues mentioned in these 
articles.  Personally I don't have any real issues with not having 
transactions, views, or subselects.  But then again I do mostly systems 
development and I don't want users writting SQL anyway.

I'd rather have a fast DBMS that I can build libraries to provide 
controls than the price tag that Oracle, IBM, Sybase, and Informix (now 
IBM) attach to there tools.

If Oracle, Sybase, or Informix had a reasonable price tag OSS products 
like MySQL and PostgresSQL wouldn't have a following.
