No, you had it right the first time.  The Server is where the desktop is
displayed, in this case the notebook.  The clients are the apps that you
want to display on the server.

I do this with one of my laptops.  I am running Win2K and Cygwin with
XFree and ssh into my linux box and display back on the notebook.  Its
all cool and stable and I LOVE having the unix tools on my windows boxes
too, added bonus.
