Without further exploration, my guess would be that the ANG1105 home
DHCP server will not renew a lease from the Windows2000 work DHCP
server. Without a renewal, you laptop "gives up" network-wise.
The "dhcpcd -k eth0" destroys the cache and releases the "work" IP.
The "dhcpcd -n -H eth0" gets a new IP from the home DHCP server, and
"voila" you're back in business.
Until the Win2K and ANG1105 will cooperate with IP address leases, (not
in Bill's lifetime,) you're probably stuck with executing the two dhcpcd
commands at the end of each migration from home to work and back.
