[NTLUG:Discuss] New kernel has same name. Is lilo necessary?

I've got a boot floppy image burned onto a
CDROM. That way... if I screw up, I can put
in my CDROM ( my floppy is flakey ) and boot
from that. When I get the
linux:
prompt, I can tell it what partiton to load
as / on my ( less than 137 gig ) harddrive.
This has come in pretty handy in the past.
