[NTLUG:Discuss] Laptop switches.

I've just acquired a Fujitsu C Series LifeBook laptop - cheap - but without
documentation.

I installed SuSE 7.0 on it by booting from the DVD drive - and it all worked
with remarkably little trouble. ...Except that the whole business of starting
and stopping the machine seems a little 'off'.

  * The auto-power-save option kills Linux.

  * The button just above the keyboard sometimes seems to
reset the machine and sometimes doesn't.

  * The lid switch kills the machine completely -
to the point where I actually have to operate
the power switch on the side of the machine in
order to 'wake it up' again.

  * There is a power switch on the left of the machine - that works as
    expected.

Clearly there is something badly wrong here - but I'm not sure where to
go about investigating this.

Any ideas?
