[NTLUG:Discuss] Moving mail from one server to another?

Hello:

I need to know how to move a user's mailbox from one server to another.
I tried copying the /var/mail/userName file to the new machine, but
sendmail did not like that.

I also did a search on the internet and on LDP, but I got a bunch
of completely irrelevant results.

I am sure this has been done before.

If someone would point me to the correct place, I would really
appreciate it.
