[NTLUG:Discuss] Keyboard Layout for English not saved permanently

I was installing SuSe 7.3 yesterday and in spite of me choosing
'English(US)' for the keyboard layout, after reboot it gets reset and the
keyboard mapping gets messed up.

Each time I log on, I have to reset the layout to 'Enlish (US)'

What did I miss ?
