  /dev/hda1 (primary) drive c
  /dev/hda2 (primary) drive d
  /dev/hda3 (primary) /boot
  /dev/hda4 (holds extended partition)
  /dev/hda5 (extended) root
  /dev/hda6 (swap)
  /dev/hda7 (home)

IF you use LILO, it might not work. If you use GRUB, it will most
probably work. LILO _still_ has problems if your cylinder number is
over 1023.

You may get away with the following scheme using LILO:

  /dev/hda1 (primary) /boot
  /dev/hda2 (primary) drive c
  /dev/hda3 (primary) drive d
  /dev/hda4 (holds extended partition)
  /dev/hda5 (extended) root
  /dev/hda6 (swap)
  /dev/hda7 (home)

I've seen Windows work with this, and I've seen Windows fail with this.
