[NTLUG:Discuss] Modem Initializing

I just recently set up a new Red Hat 7.2 box and everything went smoothly
,however when I go to set up my kppp Internet Dialer the modem will initialize
,but it just hangs!  I get a message that says Modem Initializing... then it
sits there with just this message.  I can query the modem and get some feed
back ,however the modem will initialize then sit there.  Any pointers?!!!
