I have been running Linux on Dell laptops for about 6 years now and have
had good success. I am now running on an IBM T20 and have had good luck
there as well (would prefer something other than the nipple for a
pointing device, but that is not Linux related). Done Sony as well,
with good luck.

to see some details and look to see what the issues are for the laptops
you like.
Lately I have been able to get Linux to work on just about anything I
have tried, but maybe I am just lucky.
