RedHat 6.2
I recompiled the kernel and updated to 2.4.14 kernel without AMP support.
and I think that I shouldn't have any power management package installed.
(anyone can tell me what are the packages is for power managemant?)
someone told me that you can have monitor goes blank without power manager
(do 'setterm -blank ...'). I am afraid that there is some thing similar
shell commands for setting harddrive, printer... idle for a certain amount
of time.
and I don't know the command to disable the setting. for example,
I recompiled the kernel and updated to 2.4.14 kernel without AMP support.
and no screen saver package installe. I don't use X windows, onlt text mode.
my monitor still goes blank after a while idle. now I know I control by
setterm command, but for other devices (harddrive...), how do I know what's
going, where to set if there such features?
