[NTLUG:Discuss] Suse installation...

Hi Matt.

Suse has an install tool called Yast. It can be configured "On the fly". <Installation Settings> on the main menu, followed by <Select Installation Medium> on
the "pop up" menu. The rest is really obvious. I happen to have a bootable CD that I use to start the system, and I use that to start Yast. I am not sure
which image file to download to get the same effect. I think it was the one for CD1 (maybe CD2). We had initial bought a CD kit to install from, and then
started doing upgrades, and later more system installs, using the SuSe FTP server, and just used the CD's we had to boot from and start the install. In Suse,
the main system install is handled by a Yast2 script, which, if aborted, will kick you into Yast.

I think what you will have to do if you are trying to do this from a floppy (just my $0.01) is download a bootable image from floppy, and put a copy of Yast on
it. Yast does have the capability to partition/configure/format partitions. Btw, Suse may have an image that does this somewhere, but I have never looked for it.
