David Stokes did a good presentation on ipchains the the "then" upcoming
iptables/netfilter from 2.4 at http://www.ntlug.org/archive/tp/ipchains_dstokes/ntlug.html

There's a resonable article in this month's SysAdmin Journal (if you don't
mind paying for it) on stateful firewalling with iptables/netfilter.

You might want to do a google search... I would think that there would be some
free info out there.
