True.  Debian running xfce would work great in <200MB.

My router/firewall is running S.u.S.E 4.something with KDE, Netscape and
lots of X stuff all on a 200MB HDD and an AMD K5 133Mhz.  No probems. 
Of course, since it is a full-time router, I have since deleted/diabled
the X stuff and most all the usual ports.

A 2G HDD should be way more than what is needed here.  QNX is a great
example of that.
