For a graphic version of rpm:
If you're using SuSE (version doesn't matter), you
want to use the setup tool (yast). Other package
managers will work on suse, but the yast program is
designed in, and will take care of init scripts that
aren't in the package but call the package. It also
has a level of warnings over and above the
dependancies.
If you're using Mandrake (Macmillan) v 7 or higher,
you want to use rpmdrake. In the same way as suse's
YaST, this program has a few enhancements over basic
package managers.
If you're using red hat or some other distro, try
kpackage. (someone help me with the gnome equivalent)
These only remove the program files. If you've
downloaded tons of junk, You want to open a file
manager on your default home directory and delete
stuff out of your home directory individually.
