My directlink/verizon DSL was down for maybe a total of
72 hours in the 2.5 years that I had their service. DSL
was great.
Can you say that your cable hasn't been out for more than
a total of 72 hours in 2.5 years?
Also... @home is transitioning in a lot of areas to a
private 10.x.x.x network and you'll have to do NAT/Proxy
via their servers to get to the net. I'm guessing that
that will be the future of @home. No way to run a server
then. I like being able to access my system at home from
work.
No static IP Addresses with @home.
I like the ability to do my own NAT/PROXY stuff and have
real IP Addresses.
Plus, I'm going to have to spend
$39 ( ISP ) + $15 ( modem rental ) + $12 ( basic cable )
to get my @home service. Not cheap.
