[NTLUG:Discuss] Which dsl isps will survive? ( Directlink.net is going out of business )

There is a little discussion on this in the dfw.internet.providers
group.

With directlink.net going out of business.... for $0.50, you can
buy 3 shares of ARCC ( owners of Directlink ) stock... I think
that August.net is the best bet.

The way that Directlink set me up, I have one bill that I pay
to Directlink, I will have to CANCEL my DSL and have it re-installed.
I can't just move to another ISP since Directlink appears to own my
DSL according to Verizon. 2.5 years ago, this seemed like a good idea.
Now, it sucks.

I'll be getting a cable modem to tide me over till I get DSL
re-installed. There is the possibility in the time that I cancel my
DSL service and re-start it, my CO will fill up and I won't be able
to get DSL.

This really sucks.
