[NTLUG:Discuss] Java Support?

Greetings.

I do not actually think there will be much of an impact. Most of the
work I do is on the server side, where there are several options besides
M$, even on their platform. Several of the AppServer vendor (example,
BEA), supply their own version of the JVM that they have optimized for
their application on Windows.

There are not alot of applets being used today, which run in browsers
anyways, not in the OS, and with applications, a JRE (Java Runtime
Environment) can be included and shipped with little/no additional cost.

For the type of work I and my collegues have been doing for the last 6
months, this will actually only affect my collegues development
environments, not our applications.

Bottom line, I suspect that this will turn out to be alot of fuss about
nothing.

-Steve
