FYI,
Here is a word of warning concerning D-Link ethernet cards. I have several
of the DFE530TX cards. They are working well and most distros recognize
them as RTL8139 (Realtek chipset). While building a server this week, I was
provided two D-Link DFE530TX+ (I didn't notice the plus until after
installing them) and failed to get either to work. The chipset on these
cards is unknown, but Linux isn't recognizing them and using the RTL8139
doesn't work. I sent the cards back and requested something with the Tulip
chipset.
The D-Link DFE530TX+ states on the box that it is compatible with Linux,
but I suspect that the box labeling hasn't caught up to reality. I'll let
everyone know what D-Link has to say, if or when they respond.
Alex
