Experience has shown that on the server Linux does what it does as well or
better than Windows NT / 2000. If your company doesn't have a real
business need for something that Windows offers that Linux does not (i.e.
Microsoft proprietary technologies) then make the point that there is no
advantage to be gained by switching to Windows, and doing so would be an
unecessary waste of time and money. Windows is not just unreliable, it is
expensive! Pay now and pay more and more later. There is no way around
that. If you don't *REALLY* need what it offers, a company would be
foolish to spend its time and money on it. Maybe you can shift the onus
onto the consultants to justifiably prove to your management team that your
company really needs Windows and will get enough of benefit from it to
justify the initial and ongoing costs.
