[NTLUG:Discuss] Fear and Loathing in Redmond...

Perhaps there is a better long term way to fight this outrage, at least
in Microsoft's case. Their behavior clearly demonstrates that they
intend to use their position in the internet infrastructure to leverage
their way into the ownership of properties having nothing to do with
their own goods and services. That is they are in violation of the
anti-trust laws.

In addition, can not the case be made that this practice of arrogating
the property of users of a service is simply extortion?

Is there not a way to get M$ into legal hot water using some legal help?
Surely the big corporate enemies of M$ ought to lend a hand. The
attempted heist also threatens the property rights of other
corporations. Just as we cooperate with corporations such as IBM in
advancing Linux, we also need to cooperate to stop the M$ assault
against our rights of property.
