Hi everyone,
I'm having trouble setting up a 3com/USR Performance Pro 56k modem in SuSE
7.0. Although I'm not a newbie, this is my first time setting up a modem in
Linux.
I've looked at all the modem how-tos I could find, but I still can't get it
working.
The one question I haven't found an answer to is - How do I know what serial
port to setup my modem on? Windows uses COM4, so I would think that Linux
would use /dev/ttyS3. I would expect USR to publish this information, since
they tout the modem as 'Linux compatible', but I could only find Windows
docs on their website.
Also, dmesg shows the modem at IRQ 10, I/O 0xe000 [0xe001]. What does the
number in brackets mean?
Can anyone either give me some tips or point me towards a good how-to?
Thanks in advance,
Chris
