1. My apologies: my reference yesterday to "sax", should instead have
been to YAST (although I don't think that's where it was; I just don't
recall.)
2. As I said, I don't have SuSE on my machine now; it's Mandrake 7.1.
I've just been looking at the SuSE 6.4 handbook in pdf on the CD; it
says_absolutely_nothing_about that sound/ hardware utility, that I could
find. Deficient documentation is one reason I cooled on SuSE. Maybe
they would say something on their website?
3. IIRC, the sound config. thing was part of a broader hardware config.
thing. IIRC, it had diff. "pages"/ tabs for sound config., printer
config., don't recall what else. It was a graphical interface; I was
running it under GNOME, which is my preferred window mgr. But it seems
like the name was something like "hardware config", "add new hardware" or
somesuch. Do you have everything installed from the CD? (And, keep in
mind, even if you do install and use it, it_may_or_may_not work on your
Sblastr live; This was just an idea to help you try to configure it).
Maybe it was something off of GNOME control panel.
Good luck. HTH. Wish I could have helped more.
