I have looked, but have not been able to find an answer. I have a
machine that I am using for a dial-up line tester (it dials up to
different pops and verifies connectivity) that is on my local LAN.
Currently to get the dialer to work, I have to shutdown the lan, dial,
test, kill pppd and ifconfig ppp0 down, then bring the LAN back up...
when I leave the LAN up, I get an error that says I am not allowed to
use the new IP that is being assigned by the dialup. I feel I am
missing a switch on pppd. Any ideas?
It has been too long since I used pppd directly, the GUIs have made me
lazy *snif* :^(
