[NTLUG:Discuss] KDE config

Hi guys,

I just installed RH6.2 and decided this time to give KDE a shot. I
tried Gnome/Enlightenment a shot once before and hated it. I always
seem to revert back to Motif. 

So now I've got this KDE desktop. The workspace manager bears a
striking resemblence to that Gnome workspace manager that I loathed
so. Also, I've got all these stupid icons on the root window that when
you delete come back with the next login. And when I "minimize" a
window it seems to disappear into oblivion. 

So my question is this. Is there a way to configure KDE to work like
CDE? That's what I'm used to since my computer at work is a Sun. When
I told it that I wanted to use KDE, I had somewhat expected to get a
similar workspace manager. I also expected things like minimizing
windows an being able to find them iconified on the root window. 

Can anybody help me or is it time to start digging out my Motif CD?
