Matthew:

I am attaching the output of dmesg.  There isnt anythign with par in it.
I am also attaching /proc/interrupts and there is no reference to the parallel port
that I can tell.
I am also attaching /proc/ioports and there is no reference to the parallel port that
I can tell.
